Centenary Book of Motorsport Presented to the Constable

Ken Thomson came to Grouville Parish Hall and presented Connetable Mark Labey with the ‘Centenary Book of Motorsport.’

He has compiled this incredible photographic record of the history of The Jersey Motorcycle and Light Car Club’s activities over 100 years.

It includes the Daffodil Rally in 1958 in Les Maltieres and the Grouville Gymkhana on the Royal Jersey Golf Club links in 1948.

The Connetable is a big fan of Motorsport and has attended Hill Climbs, Sprints, Sand Races and Motorcross and looks forward every other year to the Jersey Rally that goes past his house in La Rue de Grouville.

He thanked Ken for this historic volume and hopes that it strikes a chord with many Islanders who have enjoyed the events organised by this wonderful Club over the years, and hopefully many years to come.
