Grouville Annual Charity Donation

At the Parish Rates Assembly held on Thursday, 04 September 2025 a proposal from the floor resulted in the estimate of £10,000 for the Jersey Association of Charities not being included in the Parish’s budget.

As part of the proposal, it was expressed that the Parish should donate directly to specific charities rather than through the Jersey Association of Charities. This outcome was disappointing as it prevented funds from being directed through the organisation best positioned to identify and support local charities in need. However, following the Assembly’s decision, I am now inviting parishioners to put forward the charities they would like the Parish to consider supporting, together with the relevant accounts for those organisations.

While many worthwhile charities may be suggested, it will not be possible to include every nomination. The Procureurs and I will compile a shortlist of the charities most favoured by parishioners and no more than five charities will be put forward for consideration at the next Parish Rates Assembly.
