Message from Connétable
Dear Parishioners,
Storm Goretti has affected many Parishes worse than us as only 14 Parish roads and 8 States Roads had issues last night.
Thanks to the efforts of our marvellous team of Honorary Police, Roads Inspectors and Parish Hall staff, landowners and land tenants, all but 2 were open and passable, some with care, by 3pm the following day.
These events test everyone, but I am very proud of our response and co-ordination of this potential disaster.
I would like to thank Filippo Rizzuto, Duty Centenier, for being in charge on the night, Drew Livingston for their 3.30am patrol of the Parish, Master Farms and other land tenants for their hard work this morning in getting us back to a state of readiness.
After Storm Ciaran there was not one single access road into Grouville and we would have been in real danger if someone needed an ambulance.
I met a professional gardener called Aaron who was cutting a tree in Rue du Boulivot for us and Piers Cummins of DB Cummins Limited who offered his teams help. What a great community we belong to.
Bravo Grouville
Kindest regards
Mark Labey – Connétable
